6 Conclusions

We have found a way to generate a movie that gives an overview of an image database. The movie that gave the best overview of the used LCPD image database was based on the shortest distance method with a threshold of about 9. Thus, our method has reduced the original database (3014 images) to about 500 images, which is about 15 percent of the original image database while remaining an overview of the whole image database. The presented method distinguishes back and front sides well, large clusters of only back and only front sides often appeared in the movie. Even better results will be achieved, when the LCPD database becomes larger. From larger databases more coherent sequences can be generated. Other similarity matching methods with a different distance matrix might also give more coherent results [ 2 ].
